  Stop Smoking. Start Living...

Giving up can be stressful. It takes time to get used to it and for new habits to start feeling natural.

Don't expect to change your whole life at once, or even to get it right first time.

There are a number of different things that you can do to help yourself get through those hard times.

Why not take a look at the ideas below

Quick Relax
-
Imagine yourself smiling
- Say to yourself - " I am calm but alert"
- Breath in comfortably then breath out and relax the muscles in your face, then your shoulders, and then imagine a wave of relaxation flow over your body and down to your toes.

    Breath Deeply
- Stand in a comfortable position

- Close you eyes and relax your arms, shoulders and the rest of your body

- Breath in and push your stomach out

- Breath out slowly saying the word "relax" to yourself

- Repeat this as often as you need to

    Tense and Relax your Body
- Lie down or sit in a comfortable chair
- Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths
- Tighten your feet and toes and hold for 3 seconds before relaxing
- repeat for the muscles between your knees, then your thighs, stomach and chest
- Tense and relax your hands, forearms and shoulders.
- Repeat with the neck, jaw, mouth, face and scalp muscles
- Wait a few minutes and then open your eyes.
