What treatments are out there? What treatments are out there?

The most commonly used treatment is Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT). Lots of people think it’s strange that when you want to quit smoking you should take the very thing which is making you addicted!

In fact the levels of nicotine in NRT are tiny compared to the amount in a normal cigarette and far too little to keep you addicted.

NRT is a really safe way to wean yourself off nicotine and all the other harmful toxins which are contained in cigarettes.

You can take NRT in many different ways. Patches come in three different strengths and are the most popular method of NRT. Patches are really easy to use - just pop one on your arm and forget about it until the evening. One patch will give you a regular low dose of nicotine throughout the day and stave off cravings for a cigarette.

Some people prefer NRT tablets which are taken orally or dissolved under the tongue.
